How to put your gym membership card in Apple Wallet
Guide · Updated

Many gyms scan a barcode at the door, but only some offer an Apple Wallet pass. If yours doesn't, you can make your own from the card you already have. The same steps work for supermarket loyalty cards, library cards and club cards.
Step by step
- Find the barcode: the plastic card, a key tag, or a screenshot of the gym's app.
- In FoilPass, tap New pass and scan it with the camera, or pick the screenshot.
- Choose the Card style, type the gym's name and your member number, and add the gym's logo if you have it.
- Save and add it to Apple Wallet. Now it opens from your lock screen or your Apple Watch at the turnstile.
If the scanner at the door won't read it
- Turn up your screen brightness and hold the phone flat, a few centimetres from the scanner.
- Some gym tags use a barcode type that older versions of Wallet show differently. FoilPass warns you about this when you make the pass, and the app itself always shows the original barcode. On iOS 27, Wallet's own Create a Pass doesn't let you choose the format.
- If your gym uses a code that changes every time you open its app, it can't be copied. Keep using the gym's app for that.
